Streets of Rage 2 Classic

Streets of Rage 2 Classic Classic is a SEGA-made adaptation following up on their SEGA Forever line of classic remakes for mobile devices. This time around we're looking at the second part to the well known trilogy of beat'em ups launched for MegaDrive and SEGA Genesis.

Just like other major titles this one is no different in that it follows the same exact formula: a well-crafted emulation of an already perfect game that includes a couple of retouches like filters for scanlines, a suave bilineal, and the possibility to rewind action by a few quick seconds or even shift aspect ratio from 4:3 to panoramic mode (which works perfectly with your smartphone screen).

In terms of gameplay, you'll find that along with Mr.X there's 8 other full levels of play where you'll face off against an endless stream of streetwise tough guys to beat up. Plus you'll meet up with major characters from back in the day like Blaze, Azel, Eddie and Max.

This game has a couple of ads when transitioning between menus, but other than that there's very little that'll alter the original experience. Even so, you can still opt into buying the paid-for version to completely eliminate ads, simply by making a quick in-game purchase.
